Preparing for The Scarlet Letter Socratic Seminar

Look over the documents below to help you prepare for the Socratic Seminar. Page 107 will help you figure out the types of questions you should have for tomorrow. In addition, look at page 110 to see the form I will be using to grade you. Your partner will keep track of the number of times you speak and the quality of your comments.  Remember, your questions will guide the discussion so make sure they are original and well thought out so we aren’t discussing issues we’ve already raised in class.  It would also be a good idea to look at Costa’s Levels of questions to help you write good Level 2 and 3 questions.
